As my trip came to an end, the night I got back from my blessed journey to Machu Picchu, I hopped an overnight bus to Copacabana, Bolivia, after some hardcore bargaining. I ended up sitting next to a Shaman who shared his music with me. Wow...that was quite the overnight journey. After 3 bus switches later and not really knowing what was happening (on a trip that was not supposed to have any layovers), I ended up at the Bolivian border. From there, I took a boat out from Copacabana to the Isla del Sol for a trance festival, which ended up being...well...interesting to say the least. Not quite what I had in mind.
I got pretty sick on that island and got zapped with electricity when I was taking a shower.
However, I met some amazing, free-spirited travelers and enjoyed a wonderful evening of music with them.
Interestingly, I am also convinced I saw a spirit there from many years past dressed in traditional garb one evening with another person who saw the same thing. I have never seen anything like it before.
Not the greatest feel from that island, but nevertheless, I am happy that I went.
That concluded my journey to South America and I was so fortunate to have been there.
Thank you for reading!
